In India, people think that pork
meat isn’t good food. But to me it is one of the best meats. This post is
nothing to do with anybody. I am just sharing how it taste when it is prepared
sweet and sour. I had this dish when I was in Thailand and from the taste, I
went ahead and ask the chef what are the recipe of this particular dish. He
promptly told me the directions and when I tried for the first time, it didn’t
come well. Now I can prepare this in 25 mins and mind you I will make your finger
lick.
Ingredients:
- Half kilo pork cut into small pieces
- 2 and half tablespoons vinegar
- Salt
- 2 teaspoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon corn starch
- 3 tablespoons ketchup
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves minced garlic
- 2 thinly sliced carrots
- 3 cups snow peas
Directions
Toss
the pork with 1/2 tablespoon vinegar and a pinch of salt in a bowl. In another
bowl, mix the remaining 2 tablespoons vinegar, the soy sauce, cornstarch,
ketchup, 3 tablespoons sugar, 1/3 cup water and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
Heat
2 tablespoons peanut oil in a skillet over high heat. Add the pork and slowly
stir until it turns mostly opaque. Remove the pork with a slotted spoon and
transfer to a plate. Discard the oil and wipe out the skillet.
Heat
the remaining 1 tablespoon peanut oil in the skillet, then stir-fry the garlic
with a pinch each of salt and sugar. Add the carrots and stir-fry until
crisp-tender. Add the pork, snow peas and soy sauce mixture; stir until the
pork is cooked through and the sauce is thickened.
