I am bringing all the exotic foods which you get in an unexplored place like north-east India. Manipur, a land surrounded by 9 hills has it's different taste of food. One special thing is you get only organic products which is no doubt a healthy one. Today's dish is "Singju" - a vegetable salad. You may find funny but once you taste, I am sure you will love it.
Singju is a mixture of
different types of vegetables. The best thing in this is no oil and only fresh
vegetables. A very tasty and a common dish/snack which can be either serve with
rice as a side dish or eat as is. You can use any vegetables for your
preparation.
Ingredients:
- Chopped cabbage
- Chopped green papaya
- Chopped dry banana stem
- Chopped komprek (drop work)
- Chopped lotus root
- Tender Pea leaf
- ¼ Finely chopped ginger (for taste and aroma)
- ½ tsp chilli powder
- 2-3 tsp grind sesame seed
- 3-4 tsp grind roasted pea
- Salt to taste
Direction:
Take a plate. Mixed
all the chopped vegetables in same quantity. Add ginger, chilli powder, sesame
seed, roasted pea and salt to taste and mix well. Keep in mind that the salt
should be added in small quantity not like the one which you put for any curry.
Garnish with pea leaf, coriander leaves and your singju is ready.
According to your
desire you can use different vegetables but the above one is my favorite and the photo is also right from my kitchen.
Eat well. Stay healthy.
